Can you afford not to sell to the government or public sector?

You might be starting from scratch or you might have an existing small business that is looking to sell to the public sector for the first time. Either way, our Academy programme is here to help.

We know how daunting it can be to figure out how to get your product or service into this space.  Who do you talk to and where do you even start?

Designed to answer those very questions and to help you get your business/product/service ready, the GovTech Academy Accelerator is a training and business support programme focussed on selling to the public sector.

The first pilot GovTech Academy ran from Nov 2021 to April 2022 and is supported by the TEAM-SY initiative. The 2nd Cohort will run from March 2023 to May 2023.

Programme Format

  • 2 day in person bootcamp in Sheffield comprising workshops / talks covering all the essentials

  • 6 1-hour online mentoring sessions

  • 1-2-1 support for technical product development

Topics

We will cover:

  • Why selling to the public sector is different to selling to the private sector

  • Technical requirements for public sector digital products

  • How to use the G-Cloud framework

  • How to attain pre-qualification requirements

  • How to find and write public sector tenders

Costs

The programme is completely free, is supported by TEAM-SY and is part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Criteria

To be eligible for the programme you need to:

  • Be starting, or already be leading a small business looking to sell to government and the public sector - you do have to be generating revenue and you can be at concept stage

You will need to have a registered address in the South Yorkshire region. If you do not currently have this, please contact us to discuss. This will not affect your application.
